Know an animal rescue or shelter that could use $10,000?

There are two awesome ways to help your favorite animal shelter earn the chance to win $10,000!

First, there are the 2012 Petties nominations from DogTime media: for each blog entry, there is also a box to nominate your favorite non-profit animal shelter or rescue for a chance to win a $10,000 donation from DogTime media group. Each winning blog also gets a $1,000 donation to their animal rescue group of choice from DogTime. How pawsome is that?!

Nominations end JUNE 29, so go to the Petties Nomination Center and enter BlogFourPaws.com under ‘Best Dog Blog’ and enter your favorite animal rescue’s name in the shelter nomination box!

The second awesome way to help your favorite rescue receive $10,000?

The Pedigree Foundation gives out grants each year- ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 to non-profit rescue groups across the country. More information and how animal rescue groups can apply for the Pedigree foundation grant can be found on The Pedigree Foundation’s website. Not only does The Pedigree Foundation help shelter and rescue groups across the nation- they also donate food nationwide. In January Mars/Pedigree announced their partnership with The Rescue Bank: a non-profit organization that arranges for the collection, transportation, and redistribution of donated pet food to pet rescue and owner-retention groups all across the country, modeled after America’s food bank network, provides expertise in product tracking, logistics services, monitoring, and feedback.

If you go back to previous posts I’ve mentioned The Pedigree Foundation before today, once when The Westminster Kennel Club dog show officially dropped Pedigree as a sponsor because they were not willing to stop showing their adoption advertisements (note from that posting: after Pedigree showed their adoption ads during the previous year’s Westminster they received $500,000 in pledges for the foundation/adoption drive) and again during the I <3 Rescue Dogs series listing them as (one of) my favorite animal rescue organizations.
Pedigree as a brand has stepped up for animals in shelters and rescues, and is constantly committed to seeing a day where every dog has a home; which brings me to the reason I am writing this blog post.  To Dog with Love stopped me at BlogPaws and gave me the information regarding Pedigree’s ‘Write a post, help a dog’ campaign: for every blog post written about the Pedigree Brand’s commitment to pet adoption from now until June 30, Pedigree will donate a 17-pound bag of dog food to shelter dogs through their partner Rescue Bank.

There is still time to write a post and enter Pedigree’s ‘Write a post, help a dog’ campaign! Go to To Dog with Love for more information.
